Preston Street 100 years ago

Can you place this painting?

Where was Ronald A.F.Guimaraens (1873-1949) standing when he painted this scene entitled “Near Russell Square”?  Are there any clues which might date the painting? Contact the Regency Square Area Society if you have any bright ideas.  These will be passed on to Brighton Museum who are keen to have more information about the work.
